A former Hollywood comedian who now uses humor and storytelling to share the Gospel will bring his message to the Brainerd Lakes Area this fall when the Brainerd Speaker Series welcomes Tanner Kalina for an evening of faith, laughter, and inspiration.

Kalina will present "The Heart of the Matter" on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. at the Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts in Brainerd. The event is expected to draw individuals and families from across the region for what organizers describe as a high-energy night focused on growing closer to Jesus in everyday life.

Known to many through his work with Ascension Press, the Saints Alive podcast, and his popular faith-based social media content, Kalina has built a following by combining authentic Catholic teaching with humor and relatable stories. Once pursuing a career in Hollywood comedy, he now travels the country encouraging people to discover what it means to think, act, pray, and love like Christ amid the ordinary circumstances of daily life.

His Brainerd presentation will offer a blend of clean comedy, personal witness, and practical encouragement for anyone seeking to deepen their faith. Organizers say the event is designed for all ages and hope families, parish groups, youth ministries, and individuals will attend together. Special family and group seating options are available for churches and organizations wishing to attend as a group.

The event will take place at the Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts, located at 602 S. Fifth St. in Brainerd. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased through the Brainerd Speaker Series website at brainerdspeakerseries.org.

For Catholics looking for encouragement in their faith journey, families seeking a meaningful evening together, or anyone curious about how faith can transform everyday life, "The Heart of the Matter" promises an engaging and uplifting experience. As Kalina's ministry continues to reach audiences through podcasts, videos, books, and live appearances, his visit to Brainerd offers a unique opportunity to hear his message in person.
